The region of Kustendil is situated in the central part of the country, 90 km south-west from the capital city Sofia. It comprises area of 3 002 sq km and the population is near 156 000 people. The region is famous for its mineral waters and flowers. The major cities and resorts are Kustendil and Sapareva Bania.
